Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment in a food processing environment. This position requires proficiency in multiple skill areas, such as electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. The technician will perform medium to high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repairs, providing technical support for all phases of the operation. This work may involve average to considerable difficulty in carrying out a variety of mechanical maintenance tasks.

Shift: 1st Shift - 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Rotating days

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Read, interpret, and understand manufacturer equipment manuals and electrical schematic diagrams.
• Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Generate and submit paperwork related to work performed, such as PM sheets, work orders, and work logs.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and outages during both on and off duty hours to ensure continuous operations.
• Perform all equipment repairs and daily work in compliance with OSHA regulations, lockout-tagout procedures, and company safety guidelines.
• Inform maintenance and production supervisors of potential problems.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, which may include self-contained breathing apparatus.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:

• 2 - 4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Reading, writing, math, and analytical skills required.
• Required skills may include troubleshooting switches, 3-phase motors, and servicing light fixtures and ballasts.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move throughout the assigned areas carrying equipment and tools to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to reach vertical heights up to 150 feet to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and monitor equipment in both open and confined spaces.
• Must be able to work outside in all seasonal weather and stand for 8 to 14 hours.
• Exposure to airborne dust and chemicals such as hexane, caustic soda, butanone, ethanol, and aluminum chloride in a plant environment.
• Exposure to wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• Possible exposure to temperatures ranging from 28°F to 100°F with high humidity (up to 100%).
• May handle product between 25°F and 50°F.
• Exposure to noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB.
• May be exposed to chemicals used in poultry and food processing.
• Must wear and use protective and safety equipment as required by the company.
• May need to climb ladders.
