Job Summary:
Perdue Farms is seeking a Chick Transport Driver to safely and comfortably transport and deliver broiler chicks to Perdue Farms’ contract producers. The role involves preparing transport vehicles, ensuring the chicks' environmental requirements, and navigating efficient routes to contract farms, primarily in North and South Carolina, but potentially across the Southeast region of the U.S.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:
This position requires working in various conditions, including wet, dry, dusty, greasy, or dirty floors. You will also experience varying seasonal temperatures, high noise levels (>110 dB), and light intensity ranges from <50 ft to 100 ft candles. The job involves bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, and sitting for extended periods, with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds. You must also be able to climb stairs, work on tractor trailers and catwalks, and kneel as needed.
You will be exposed to chemical elements such as chlorinated water (<50 ppm), ammonia vapors (>5 ppm), caustic detergents, lubricating oils, and other chemicals used in live poultry processing operations. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided as required by Perdue.
