Travel Nurse RN - Labor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery (L&D) team. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. You will collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of both the mother and baby.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, hands-on care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period to ensure the safety and well-being of mother and infant.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, including vital signs, contractions, fetal heart rate, and pain levels, and respond to changes promptly.
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including preparing the delivery room and providing immediate care to the newborn.
• Educate expectant mothers and families on the childbirth process, pain management, and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
• Provide postpartum care, including monitoring for complications, supporting breastfeeding, and offering emotional support.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and take appropriate actions following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with hospital policies.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and their families throughout the labor and delivery process.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to earn BSN within a set timeframe
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
• Experience: Previous experience in Labor and Delivery or high-acuity nursing environment preferred
• Skills: Strong clinical assessment abilities, excellent communication, ability to manage complications, and proficiency with delivery-related medical equipment
